We are fifth generation butchers and farmers, founded in the 1960’s by husband and wife team James and Joan Whelan, based on two simple values Quality and Service. While the business has adapted and grown over the years, these values have never changed – they are
in our DNA.

Our history and experience in agricultural processes uniquely gives our craftspeople the expertise to control and develop high standards at each stage of the supply chain from selection to maturation, to end-product refrigeration, presentation and product development.

Having our own farm, our own abattoir and our own shops, allows us to give people that essential element of trust when they buy meat today in our stores or through our online shop.

We are committed to driving the business forward by innovation in our world class products and retail experiences; by nurturing our people to reach their full potential within the business and by promoting sustainability in our industry.

We work with the finest artisans and craftspeople who share the same ethos of us. We are proud that many of our suppliers are fellow Tipperary Food Producers and together we are dedicated to preserving traditional techniques and originality.

Through our growing shop network, we take local products to a wider community, which creates greater economic opportunities for smaller producers, helping local economies and creating sustainable jobs. In turn we offer our customers great diversity and choice where we have complete control over the supply chain.

Our very special products from the heartlands of Tipperary have been recognised globally, winning major awards and being stocked on shelves of leading retailers such as Harrods, Wholefoods and Fortnum and Mason.
