Crossogue Preserves
Veronica Molloy’s story is a testament to the enduring spirit of family, tradition, and entrepreneurship. Born in Kenya and later moving to Ireland to build a life with her Irish husband, Veronica, along with her family, has successfully operated the Crossogue family farm for five generations.
The commitment to quality and tradition is evident in the way Crossogue products are made. Despite the passage of time, all the products are still crafted in small batches, using natural ingredients. The emphasis on hand-made production and the exclusion of additives showcases a dedication to preserving the authenticity and taste of the products.
While the farm may no longer produce all the ingredients exclusively, the Molloy’s take great care in sourcing the best quality ingredients, both locally and from afar. This commitment to quality has allowed Crossogue to expand its product line from the original handful to an impressive 220 different preserves. Additionally, the venture into the luxury gift market and the launch of a seasonal subscription service demonstrates a willingness to adapt to changing consumer needs.
The growth in demand has necessitated the formation of a dedicated team to support Veronica Molloy in her endeavours. The transformation from a small-scale operation to a thriving business reflects the success and popularity of Crossogue preserves.
Located in the heart of Tipperary, a region known for its fertile land and agricultural productivity, Crossogue benefits from the abundance of excellent raw materials. The explosion in quality food production in the region attests to the agricultural richness that contributes to the success of ventures like Crossogue.
Veronica Molloy’s 58 years of marriage, six children, and 15 grandchildren underscore not just the success of Crossogue as a business but also the enduring strength of family ties and the joy derived from the journey that life, love, and entrepreneurship have taken her on.
Awards
Over the years, the brand has won over 75 awards including many gold and double golds at the prestigious Great Taste Awards and The World’s Original Marmalade awards. Veronica was also honoured to receive a life time achievement award by the Irish Food Writers’ Guild.
